2023 Year in review! Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre 2023 highlights.
The concert scene in Illinois is alive and well thanks to the popular destination, Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre! Over the years, it has been Chicago’s favorite hang-out for music and entertainment lovers! After three decades of top-tier concerts and festivals, the venue continues to be a place where performers and fans can gather, celebrate music, and enjoy the company of kindred spirits! The Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre is currently one of the largest music venues in the city, accommodating up to 28,739 attendees in a single event. For years now, the venue has hosted some of the most exciting shows in the city. This 2023, the venue, located at Tinley Park, has presented a myriad of outstanding performers. Fans from far and wide gathered and enjoyed great shows, basked in Chicago’s incredible summer weather, and enjoyed the plethora of food and shopping vendors. Springtime was a great time to be alive in Chicago because the Grammy Award-winning pop superstar Janet Jackson brought her Together Again Tour to the amphitheater. As expected, the concert was sold out and the venue’s has reached capacity – meaning the show was attended by over 28,000 fans in one single night! “Although we had seats that were paid for, NO ONE sat down the entire time. Dancing, singing, drinking and pictures. Very nice!,” says a concert attendee at Yelp.

Old school R&B took precedence during the summer at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater. The Hot Summer Nights Tour featuring co-headliners TLC and Shaggy conquered the concert grounds with their sensational hits on Friday, 23rd June 2023. The event brought ‘90s music fans together on this exhilarating evening. Before the headliners took the stage, Hot Summer Nights also brought in En Vogue and Sean Kingston to hype up the crowd.
Up next, Dierks Bentley’s Gravel and Gold Tour opened the month of July with incredible country music. The award-winning singer-songwriter brought his friends Jordan Davis and Tyler Braden along for the ride on Saturday, 8th July 2023. That night, the show was a full house, and Bentley treated fans to a wide range of career-spanning hits, including “Am I The Only One,” “Drunk on a Plane,” and some iconic covers from Hot Country Knights.
By mid-July, the amphitheater hosted one of the biggest hip-hop shows of the season. Taking place at the amphitheater on Friday, 21st July 2023, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s High School Reunion Tour is history in the making. The hip-hop legends starred in a 2012 film titled Mac and Devin Go to High School. Together, the duo released the single “Young, Wild & Free” to promote the film. Eleven years since that movie, Snoop Dogg and Wiz joined forces to deliver an epic tour of gigantic proportions. They also brought along guest performers Warren G, Berner, Too $hort, and DJ Drama to stir things up. A concert attendee was raving about the show in his review, “This concert was awesome! The pre-show acts were great as well. Snoop mixed in old and new songs for the different age groups at the concert. Warren G was great as well. Being close to a rap icon was something I will never forget.”
The following day, the venue shifted to accommodate the production of Foreigner’s The Historic Farewell Tour. It was reported to be the legendary band’s last-ever North American run. The British rock band brought the house down with special guests Loverboy. Fans were treated to timeless rock staples, such as “Double Vision,” “Juke Box Hero,” “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and “Hot Blooded.” If a massive band like Foreigner is going out with a bang, they surely made the right decision to bring it to the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
By the end of July, the venue hosted the highly-awaited show of the Mexican sensation, Peso Pluma. The Double P Tour featured the best and brightest songs of the platinum-selling powerhouse. That night, the amphitheater was reportedly packed. The following month, it was all hands on deck for rock music fans because Credit Union 1 Amphitheater hosted shows by the biggest names in the circuit. On August 4th, 2023, Gov’t Mule and Jason Bonham lit up Tinley Park with their incredible setlist. A few days later, hard rock powerhouse, Godsmack and Staind arrived and delivered their headlining tour on Thursdya, 10th August 2023.
Nickelback made their phenomenal return in 2023 and they chose this amphitheater to accommodate their massive concert. The Grammy Award-winning band is guaranteed to bring in fans by tens of thousands. Thanks to Credit Union 1’s vast concert grounds, the show accommodate the influx of head bangers with ease. The amphitheater’s summer season also accommodate performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, and Jinjer.
In September, the summer season was coming to a close but not before country superstar Jason Aldean drops by for his Highway Desperado Tour. The multi-award-winning singer was promoting the release of his latest album. And for that he brought in support acts Mitchell Tenpenny and Corey Kent. The night was rich with iconic hits, such as “Crazy Town,” “Tattoos on This Town,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” and more.
Finally, fall has arrived and the venue opened the season with The Otra Pedra Tour featuring the American regional Mexican sensation, Fuerza Regida. The show was sold out and fans were entertained by the band’s outstanding special effect and incredible high-energy. All in all, it was a thrilling night for Latin music fans as Fuerza Regida, backed by a big band gave fans the most memorable night of their lives.
