Known for their powerful song lyrics and unique sound that blend emo, post-hardcore, and classic hard rock tunes, Avenged Sevenfold is undoubtedly one of the biggest bands in the world. Formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California, the heavy metal band comprises Matthew Shadows on vocals, Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance on guitars, Johnny Christ on bass, and Brooks Wackerman on the drums. The latter replaced the famous drummer The Rev after his untimely death in 2009.

With hits such as "Bat Country," "Afterlife," and "A Little Piece of Heaven," among other notable songs, the band shot to fame in the mid-2000s. Thanks to their distinctive style, incorporating punk rock, metalcore, and progressive rock, the band was able to dominate the metal rock scene. Their first few albums, including 2001's "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" and 2003's "Waking the Fallen," focused on a metal core sound. However, the band experimented with several genres in their following albums while maintaining their distinct metal sound, much to their fans' delight. Who would ever forget Avenged Sevenfold's breakthrough album "City of Evil" in 2005? The album led the band to the mainstream rock scene with songs such as "Beast and the Harlot," "Seize the Day," and "Bat Country."

The album's success was followed by their fan-favorite self-titled album in 2007. The songs "Afterlife," "Almost Easy," and "A Little Piece of Heaven," among other songs from the platinum album, became anthems of the Deathbat Army (the band's loyal fans). The subsequent albums —2010's "Nightmare," 2013's "Hail to the King," and 2016's "The Stage"— have featured Avenged Sevenfold's growth and bravery to explore new sounds while still being rooted in their heavy metal origins.

This year, Avenged Sevenfold finally announced that they are releasing a new album after seven years of hiatus. Although their latest album, "Life Is But a Dream …" is yet to be released this June, Avenged Sevenfold has given their fans a taste of their new album through the carrier single "Nobody." On top of these, fans are ecstatic to know that the band will embark on a tour this year. Dubbed "Life Is but a Dream… Tour," the series of shows will take Avenged Sevenfold to some of the biggest venues in the US and Canada.

Catch the band his July 28, Friday, at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, for an exhilarating concert you won't forget. The band will be joined by the Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. Alexisonfire is known for their hits "This Could Be Anywhere In The World," "Rough Hands," "Dog's Blood," and "Boiled Frogs," among many others.
