After spending the better part of last year Crushing the World, Megadeth are back for any survivors they may have missed. Prepare for the Destroy All Enemies Tour coming to Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre this Tuesday, September 3rd 2024 with headliners Megadeth and support bands, Mudvayne and All That Remains!!! Smash that "Get Tickets" button for some serious Heavy Metal Destruction.
“Our ‘Crush the World’ tour has been a tremendous experience for the four of us,” said Megadeth lead singer, Dave Mustaine in a press release for the tour. “We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing, we are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off.”
The band continue to Thrash out tracks from their most recent album, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!, from 2022. But don't think that it's all you're going to get, nope the band have also been performing tracks from, Rust In Peace, and, Countdown To Extinction-era classics such as, Tornado Of Souls.
The legendary Thrash Metalers spend April 2024 touring South and Central America performing in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and El Salvador. Then they hop over the pond in June for a bunch of dates across Europe including, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.
And then, finally, they head home in August for an insane 33-city tour with exclusive support from Mudvayne and All That Remains. The North American Destroy All Enemies Tour 2024 screams out of the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR and includes shows in Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Boston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, and clearly Tinley Park, Illinois' Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre on September 3rd before coming to a screeching halt at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium at the end of September.
As one of the old guard of Thrash Metal, the band has certainly had plenty of lineup changes, and this year is no exception, sadly seeing the retirement of Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro who announced a few months ago that he left the group for personal family reasons. Finnish metal guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari from the symphonic melodic death metal band, Wintersun swill replace Kiko Loureiro going forward. Joining original band founder guitarist, singer and songwriter Dave Mustaine along with bassist since 2022 James LoMenzo, and drummer since 2016 Dirk Verbeuren.
“I would like to thank Kiko for his dedication and hard work these past nine years, helping us to achieve a Grammy on Dystopia and the additional awards we have received on this latest record, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” said Mustaine about over the news, “I could not have done this without Kiko Loureiro.”
Mudvayne came out the gates swingin' at this year's Welcome to Rockville festival, opening with their 2007 single "Dull Boy," and then pushed it straight into, The End of All Things to Come's "Not Falling" and "World So Cold," and closed out their performance with the favorite, "Dig." The band spent last year touring, “The Psychotherapy Sessions,” their first tour in almost 15 years! Plus, they also found time to spend a good portion of last year holed up in the studio and have announced that some new Nu-metal goodness is on its way!
